The legal predecessor of Vilati Plc. – the Electric Automation Institute - was founded in 1960 in Budapest as an Institute for planning. After some years, in 1967 its production base was established in Eger, it was the Eger Plant.

In the beginning, VILATI used to produce traditional electro-mechanic, power current connectors and controls, based on their own designs but in order to be able to develop technology continuously, the company undertook the construction of the most complicated CNC equipment as well.

The company started to modernise its technology and enhance its competitiveness in 1989, providing well-qualified products and services which satisfied the needs of domestic customers and of those both in eastern and western markets. From January 1 2004, the company was transformed into three independent limited companies, on the basis of the previous two technologies. One specialised in metal constructional products, the second one broadened its profile in the field of electronics, while the third one (Vilati Service Ltd.) is based on assembling and distributing skittles and bowling machines.
Since 2007  Vilati Service Ltd. expanded its scope of activities with assembling control units and electrical switchboxes, and  also producing air-conditioning and heating units.

The company bought their own depot in Eger in January 2008, as a result of which they were able to increase the size of the production area tenfold and tripled the number of employees. The administrative staff went through considerable quantitative and qualitative changes which resulted in a modern, competitive assembly unit due to an enormous investment in means of measuring instruments and production.

Nowadays 95% of the production of Vilati Serivce Ltd. consists of manufacturing railway industrial air-conditioners. The number of the company's employees is 50.
